Analysis of Senior Year

The poem, Senior Year is about looking at the amazing moments that I had at Saints. I looked at all the good things that Saints have provided me. It feels like Senior year has gone by really fast because now the journey is over. I also talked about why I love going to Saints and the experience that it has given me. In this poem, I expressed my happiness that I got the chance to go to a school that provides brotherhood. In the end, I'll never forget about the Saints Experoence, which is what the poem is all about.

Senior Year

I think to myself on my way to school,

I’m a senior at Saints,

Dang that’s really cool,

It feels like it going by so fast.

The one thing that was really great,

Was going to Prom with my date,

I got to hang out with my friends,

Something I’ll remember till the end.

I really love my Kairos retreat,

I had a chance to grow closer to God,

It was truly sweet,

I will never forget the bond that grew that day.

The time spent at saint is unforgettable,

Everyone from my teachers to my friends are incredible,

Right now being a senior is my favorite part,

Saint will always have a place in my heart.

Analysis of Young Love

Young Love is about a poem where two young people fell in love with one another. The poem describes how strong their love is. The first stanza talks about the moment they first met and how they fell in love. The second stanza talks about the spark or chemistry that they both have. The last stanza is about marrying the girl that he fell in love with. In the end, young love can really go along way.

Young Love

The day we met,

I fell in love with you,

I love everything about you,

I knew at that moment that you're the one.

The strong connection between us,

A spark that we hold together, 

A bond we share,

The love we have.

Now I'm here at the chapel,

Marrying you,

The love of my life,

The one.

Analysis of The Silent Place

The Silent Place is suppose to be describing  the mountains. It's describing the traits of the mountains. The type of poem this is is a haiku that describes the mountains. The mountains is suppose to be a peaceful. The reason I wrote a haiku about mountains is because I love to go on hikes with my dad to the mountains.

Beautiful Mountains.

Tall and huge mountains.

The trees cover the brown mountain.

The tall trees were green.

It's a serene place.

Analysis of The Run

The poem, The Run is basically about escaping reality and running away from the problems that you face. The run is suppose to clear your head from your stress and problems. The purpose to go on a run is to relax your mind, which is what the person is doing. The run is also not to look back in the past, but to keep moving forward. The goal of a run is to forget about your problems and let go and if you have achieved this then you've completed the goal of the run.

The Run

Run away from the stress,

Clear your mind,

Free you spirit,

Enjoy the breeze.

Keep going,

Don't look back,

Don't stop,

There's no turning back.

Follow your heart for where it takes you,

Get lost in the run,

Let go of your everything,

Be free.

Analysis of Crazy Life at Saints

Crazy Life at Saints is about the four years that I've spent at high school. I'm looking looking back at  the ups and downs that I had during high school. The challenges that I've faced and how I conquered those challenges. Lastly, looking back to all of those years and how I made it though. That's what Crazy Life at Saints is all about.

The reason I chose this picture is because high school is like a rollercoaster we have some ups and downs, but in the end we made it through.

Analysis of The Path

“The Path” is about making decisions in your life and learning how to live it. It talks about the opportunities that you could have had if you went with one of the decision besides the other one. For every decision we make, there always an effect with the choices we make. The decision we make in life can either affect us in a good way or bad way. We just don't know what the effect will be till we make the decision. Then after we make the decisions, we try to live with the decision we make. We can be happy or sad about with the decision we make. That's what the poem is all about choosing one thing over the other and being able to live with that. I wouldn't change anything about this poem because I thought it was well done. I thought the mood of this poem was sad. The literary device ‘mood’ refers to a definitive stance the author adopts in shaping a specific emotional perspective towards the subject of the literary work.

The Path

Stuck here in between paths,

Don't know where to go,

Don't know which one to choose,

Don't know what's right and what's wrong.

I had to ponder,

The cost of opportunities,

The choices we make,

The consequences of our actions.

We choose and we learn,

We learn how to live with it,

Live with choices we make,

It is the road we choose.

I chose this picture because my poem talks about the path we take.

Analysis of Summer

The poem, “Summer” is a little haiku that I wrote about summer because I love the summer. Summer is my favorite season out of the four. The weather is warm and the sun is out during the summer. You can also do a lot things during the summer like go to the beach, go to the park, and go to the museums. That's why I go out a lot during the summer because I can do a lot of things with friend. During the summer, I would usually go to the beach with my family and sometimes go surfing with my friends. I wouldn't change anything about this poem. I would say the setting of this poem is the summer. In literature, the word ‘setting’ is used to identify and establish the time, place and mood of the events of the story.

Summer is vacation time.

Go to the beach and have fun.

Analysis of The Break Up

“The Break Up” is about me getting dump by the girl I loved. In this poem, I talked about how much I missed her and hoped things didn’t end like. I wanted the relationship to keep going, but she didn’t feel the same way. In stanza 1, I talked about being alone after I was dumped. In stanza 2, I talked about the time we spent together. In the last stanza, I talked about how much I miss her after she still dump me. If I had to change anything in this poem is I would get rid of the line, Tick tock tick and replace it with another sentence that’s not sound related. In this poem, it was told through my point of view. Point of view is the manner in which a story is narrated or depicted and who it is that tells the story.

The Break Up

As moments pass by,

I stood still in the dark,

Thinking about what just happened,

Left alone waiting.

Tick tock tick,

The time stopped, so did we,

Not a day goes by that I miss you,

Reminiscing those times we spent.

My heart aches,

Wishing things didn't end like this,

It's now over,

What it was is now in the past.
